A few months ago, we did something no one in India had done before: we built India's first natural, refillable, solid roll-on deodorant, a chemical-free deodorant with no aluminium, no alcohol, and no baking soda, so it's genuinely safe even for sensitive skin. The fragrances which sit inside the formulation are also natural and IFRA-certified fragrances.
The deodorant case itself is made from chip packets, the multi-layered, foil-fused plastic that's practically impossible to recycle and almost always ends up in landfill. We called it the Forever Case that you don't throw away when it runs out; you simply refill it.
We weren't sure how people would take to it. Turns out, pretty enthusiastically.
"Loved the new deodorant... The deo is definitely long lasting and I haven't had any allergies or skin reactions, so it's pretty clean too. Great product!" - Naman Bajaj
That's the kind of feedback that makes a launch worth it. One customer put it just as warmly: "it's amazing!! Feels so elegant to hold, easy to apply, and the texture is so soft."
The fragrances have been a particular hit. Rohan told us he got the Oudh variant and "loved the fragrance, and it is very long-lasting, tested pre-gym as well!" Samyukta Karthik went a step further: "we're in love with the day in day out fragrance 😍... I'll be a forever customer lol." Pun very much intended, and very much appreciated.
But it's not just the deodorant that's landing, it's the idea behind it. Prarthana wrote in to say, "apart from the fact that these cases will last us forever, the product itself is so good!" And on Instagram, one reviewer summed up exactly why we made it in the first place: "This has to be the niftiest best invention ever... Its case is made from chips packets (hardest to recycle because they are made of multi layered plastic fused with aluminium foil, and ends up in landfill!)... It has no NASTIES like regular deo, no chemicals, aluminum et al!"
Maybe our favourite comment came from Asit Dongre, who captured the whole point of a refillable system: "So refreshing to see a brand actually doing the work on sustainability instead of just pushing more plastic on us with every restock."
This is still a first-generation product, and India’s first refillable stick deodorant is teaching us as much as it’s teaching consumers how to refill it, travel with it, and make the case sturdier with every batch. We’re reading every message, good and tricky, and using that feedback to build the next version.
But if the last few weeks are anything to go by, the idea itself, a natural solid deodorant you refill instead of replace is one people are genuinely excited to adopt. And that’s what makes us most hopeful: that refillable deodorants in India can become a practical, everyday alternative to single-use deodorant packaging. For us, that’s the future of natural deodorant in India, and the part we’re proudest of.
