Why Cafes Keep Collaborating With Us
Coffee has always been more than just a beverage in India, it’s a ritual, a community, and for many, a moment of calm in a busy day.
From the lush plantations of Chikmagalur, where Baba Budan first brought with him seven coffee beans from Yemen in the 17th century, to the thriving café culture of today’s cities, India’s relationship with coffee has significantly evolved.
At Bare Necessities, we’ve found a new way to celebrate this connection by giving coffee a second life. Through creative collaborations with coffee brands and enthusiasts, we’ve been turning spent coffee grounds into sustainable self-care essentials such as coffee body scrubs and spa bars, proving that even what’s left behind can be brewed into something beautiful.
Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters Workshop
With Blue Tokai, we hosted a hands-on workshop teaching coffee lovers how to repurpose their spent coffee grounds into DIY body scrubs. It was a circular economy in action, waste turned into wellness!
ARAKU Coffee
When your coffee goes the extra mile, you don’t toss it away! With Araku Coffee, we transformed their spent coffee grounds into a revitalising Coffee Scrub and a gently exfoliating Coffee Spa Bar, eco-friendly and nourishing for the skin.
Third Wave Coffee Roasters
From using our steel straws to hosting our first few pop-ups, Third Wave has been an inspiring partner In our journey. We have often taken used coffee from them for recycling and to use in our products.
Filter Coffee Collaboration
Celebrating South India’s eternal love for “filter coffee,” we teamed up with singer-songwriter Aditi Ramesh for a fun musical ode to this beloved brew. Check out this fantastic reel. Pairing our reusable Swadeshi tumblers with classic filter coffee and our body scrub made from recycled coffee grounds, this collaboration beautifully highlighted the importance of reuse, whether it’s your steel mug or your morning brew.
Collaborations like these remind us that sustainability doesn’t always need to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s as simple as turning used coffee into something that nurtures us, from body scrubs to soaps that make everyday routines more mindful.
