2024: Bare Necessities Round Up!
As 2024 draws to a close, we at Bare Necessities are filled with pride and gratitude as we reflect on the remarkable milestones we’ve achieved this year.
It’s been yet another year of growth, innovation and a steadfast commitment to staying true to the values that define us: sustainability, transparency and ethical practices.
From important certifications to product innovations and green gifting, we’ve made significant strides in our journey to make the world a better place.
Here’s a roundup of the biggest highlights from Bare Necessities in 2024.
1. B Corp Certification, Reinstating our Commitment to be a Force for Good
The standout moment of 2024 was undoubtedly earning our B Corp Certification, a prestigious recognition that we are incredibly proud of. It’s conferred by B Lab, a global non-profit, this certification is widely regarded as the Gold Standard for companies that prioritise social and environmental impact.
For us, the B Corp Certification is more than just a title, it was a necessary step in reinforcing our deep commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.
Over the course of this year, we have come to realise that B Corp is still a very nascent idea in India, with several stakeholders unaware of its importance. Through these experiences, we have come to understand the importance of B Corp and why it was important for us to emphasise the significance of fair practices in business.
The B Corp Certification strengthens our credibility as a responsible business and aligns with our holistic ethos that resonates with the core values of sustainability.
2. Mapping Our Carbon Footprint: The GHG Emissions Study
2024 also marked a significant leap in our environmental journey with the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Study. This impact metric has been a long time goal for us, and thanks to our participation in the GreenR programme by TechnoServe India, we finally had the opportunity to map our carbon emissions.
The study helped us understand critical insights into our carbon footprint, allowing us to better understand our emissions at a deeper level and work towards further reducing them. Being part of the GreenR Cohort has not only given us valuable data, but it has also equipped us with the tools to continue our efforts in becoming a carbon conscious business.
3. Circularity Validation: Paving the way towards a Circular Economy
Another major achievement in 2024 was our Circularity Validation, a reflection of our business model rooted in the principles of a circular economy. Our focus since our inception has been on creating products and initiatives that promote recycling, repurposing and ethical sourcing. This year we had the privilege of working with EIT Climate-KIC, Europe’s leading climate innovation agency, to undertake a Circularity Assessment and Impact Study.
The validation certificate marks a significant step forward in our journey. It helps us not only tell our impact story but also provides a solid framework for engaging investors, clients and like-minded businesses. With this certification, we are more committed than ever to designing products that are both sustainable and impactful.
4. New Product Launch: Deodorants That Smell as Good as They Are!
This year marked the launch of a new addition to our product portfolio, our deodorants. Our three special deodorants, crafted with 100% vegan and earth friendly ingredients, have quickly become our most popular product, loved by customers for their fresh, floral and woody refreshing scents. Not only are these deodorants gentle on the skin, but they’re also packaged in reusable aluminium tins.
5. Thoughtful Gifting: Celebrating the Spirit of Giving
We’ve always believed in the power of thoughtful and mindful gifting, and this year we took it a step further. From Women’s Day gift bundles to Christmas and Diwali collections, we curated some of our most popular and beloved gift sets yet!
For Women’s Day, we teamed up with fellow businesses like Anuttama Chocolates, Tamarind Chutney Notebook, Ekatra and Kangra House Tea to create curated gift bundles that truly embodied gratitude and appreciation for the sheroes in your life!
Our Diwali Gift Bundles became a major hit, packed with goodies like plantable seed crackers, artisanal Diwali candles, slow roasted nuts and even an Eco-Fun Playing Cards Deck, all wrapped in zero waste packaging.
We collaborated with incredible clients such as HexaHealth, InWise Wealth Management, CSTEP and Zinnov, using cane baskets, Furoshiki style gift wrapping and more, to ensure every gift is as sustainable as it was thoughtful!

As we wrap up an incredibly rewarding year, we’re filled with gratitude for our customers, partners and the entire Bare Necessities community and team. The achievements of 2024 are a testament to the incredible progress we’ve made as a small social enterprise, and a reflection of our shared commitment to making a positive impact on the planet.
