Sustainability & Sisterhood | Bare Necessities at AbInBev

Women’s Day just went by and we’re still reminiscing about the incredible workshop lineup and the thoughtful topics that teams curated in light of it. One such special workshop was the one conducted for AbInBev, led by our Founder & CEO, Sahar Mansoor. The event was focussed about reflecting and being appreciative of the strength and resilience we, as women, carry within ourselves, and it was a beautiful celebration of how women support and uplift one another. Beyond a talk, the workshop stirred up fascinating conversations and reflections on women’s journeys, empowerment and how we can green our everyday lives!
Through the workshop, Sahar shared her story, which spans from her education to her dedication to sustainability. Her journey from a curious student to an impactful entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring. From working with the World Health Organisation to pursuing a Master’s at Cambridge University, Sahar’s journey has taken several meaningful turns. Her stint at SELCO Foundation that deepened her commitment to sustainability, shaped both lifestyle and entrepreneurial vision.
Upon setting the tone with a personal, heartfelt story, the conversation moved towards connecting with the women in the room. Laced with fun, interactive games that fostered conversations and broke the ice, it allowed the women to reflect on their strengths and align those with sustainability. The game nudged everyone to engage in a lighthearted yet meaningful discussion about their personalities, and how we all have our own “roots”, much like plants!
And speaking of plants, the theme of this workshop was green therapy. The workshop delved deeper into green therapy and its profound impact on both mental and emotional well being, Sahar discussed how spending time amidst nature, whether that's through gardening, plant care or simply immersing ourselves in nature, can be a powerful form of therapy. A key focus was the importance of reconnecting with nature, especially as women, as a means to restore balance, build empathy and promote well being.
In the spirit of Women’s Day, the conversation highlighted women in the environmental domain, from the Chipko Movement, a grassroots effort led by women in India to protect trees, to the village of Piplantri in Rajasthan, where a community of women has been planting trees to create a sustainable future for generations to come. Not to forget, the incredible women within Bare Necessities were spotlighted. Their strength, creativity and passion fuel our brand everyday!
Everyone took part in a DIY Terrarium building session, where everyone created their own little green haven to take home. Terrariums are a wonderful hands-on activity that offers an opportunity to reflect, while building something meaningful together.
This Women’s Day Workshop, in particular, was a heartwarming reminder of the incredible strength that women possess. Sharing stories to learning about sustainable living and taking part in meaningful activities, the day was filled with powerful moments of reflection.
