Driving Sustainability for All at Padmini VNA Mechatronics

Driving Sustainability for All at Padmini VNA Mechatronics

Padmini VNA Mechatronics (PVNA) is a trailblazer at the intersection of environmental stewardship and innovation. PVNA manufactures environmentally friendly auto components, while consistently being at the forefront of technological innovation and high quality manufacturing. As a proud ‘Made in India’ company, PVNA is now setting its sights on driving sustainable growth by reducing carbon emissions and making automobiles more fuel efficient.

Beyond their larger sustainability goals, their green intent extends to their internal culture and workforce as well. In line with this mission, PVNA has partnered with Bare Necessities to host a series of sustainability themed workshops. The aim of this being to equip their entire team with the knowledge and skills to incorporate green practices to their daily lives, both at work and at home. These workshops are a part of the company’s larger goal to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy and to build a greener, more eco-conscious future.

Our workshops with PVNA kicked off with two super interesting sessions, namely, Zero Waste Kitchen and Home Care, and Urban Gardening.

Zero Waste Kitchen and Home Care:

An easy and practical place to begin sustainability based discussions is to start with the kitchen. It’s a place that is critical to the functioning of every household and owing to traditional Indian zero waste practices, can be made green very easily. We shared simple and easy to implement strategies for reducing household kitchen waste. Participants learned how to compost, create DIY cleaning products, and shop more sustainably. Did you know that the average household can reduce their waste by up to 50%  and save a lot of money just by adopting zero-waste practices? Not only does this reduce landfill waste, but it also helps save money.

Urban Gardening - Root to Stem Cooking:

The next workshop introduced the Padmini team to the world of indoor urban gardening. The session covered everything from soil health and watering techniques to plant care methods. No session goes without a DIY activity. We engaged the participants in an activity that transformed waste plastic bottles into microgreen plants. It created a fun and interactive environment to show how waste materials can be repurposed into something that nurtures the environment.

During both these sessions, we observed that the participants felt empowered to take action, ready to green their living spaces and reduce waste in the process. A highlight for us through these sessions was Padmini’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility across the board. PVNA ensured that all members of their team, including blue collar workers took part in these sessions. Therefore, to make the workshops more relatable and engaging, sessions were held in Hindi. Thereby, every participant, regardless of their background, could understand and contribute to the discussions. This inclusive approach reinforced the fact that sustainability is truly a collective effort and every individual has an important role to play in creating a greener future.

In a world where businesses have the responsibility to align with environmental goals, PVNA’s commitment to sustainability is very inspiring. Through these workshops, Bare Necessities is proud to be a part of PVNA’s journey towards creating a more sustainable future for all.
